Most junk removal companies in San Diego will not tell you a price until they are standing in your driveway. We do it the other way around: our prices are on display. Here is how junk removal pricing works and how to estimate your own job.
Junk removal is priced by volume
You pay for the space your items take in the truck or trailer, not by the hour. Our trailer measures 12 ft × 6 ft × 6.5 ft, which is about 468 cubic feet, and our prices follow four simple sizes:
- Single item: $149. One bulky piece such as a sofa, a mattress or a refrigerator.
- Quarter load: $299. About 117 cubic feet. A small room, or a few pieces of furniture and some boxes.
- Half load: $399. About 234 cubic feet. A one-car garage or a one-bedroom apartment.
- Full load: $799. About 468 cubic feet. A two-bedroom home, a packed two-car garage or an estate cleanout.
What is included
The price covers the crew, the loading, the hauling and the disposal of normal household and office junk. You do not pay extra for carrying items out of the house.
What can change the price
Weight. Certain items require more labor and equipment to lift. Concrete, dirt, brick, tile and roofing are far heavier than furniture, and a trailer can only carry a limited amount safely, so these materials are priced by volume and weight. Hazardous waste is the one thing we cannot take at any price.
How to estimate your load
Stack everything in your mind into a cube. A standard refrigerator is roughly 30 cubic feet; a three-seat sofa about 40; a queen mattress and box spring about 45. Add it up and compare it with the sizes above, or skip the math: send us a few photos and we will tell you which load you need.
Ways to pay less
- Break down boxes and stack loose items so they take less space.
- Combine jobs with a neighbor and share a half or a full load.
- Ask for the 10% discount if you are a military or AAA member.
